7 weeks old

My baby girl is growing so fast! It's crazy that I can hardly remember her right when she was born. She is such a happy baby and is smiling all the time.

On another note, I got mastitis from breastfeeding. It is awful! It felt just like I had the flu and it just so happened that I was SO SICK on my husbands first father's day :( I got antibiotics that I'm taking for it now and I feel 100% better. I'm feeding Avery formula for now because I've heard that the baby can get thrush from having the breastmilk with antibiotics in it. I am however, giving her one feeding of breastmilk a day.

Avery-Birth to One Month

5 weeks (3 days) old

Avery

- is in size one diapers
- is smiling alot
- loves her bath
- can wear some 0-3 month clothing, but mostly still in newborn
- is still being breastfed (and drinking breastmilk from a bottle)
- sleeps about 4 hours at a time at night
- is finally sleeping in her bassinet

As for me, I love being a mom! I'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight (yay!) but still have the "doughy" stomach to get rid of. I had my post partum checkup on Wednesday and everything is healed :) I'm so glad to be feeling 100% again! I got over the baby blues at about 2 weeks pp, so I am EXTREMELY happy to be feeling myself again.

Second doctors appointment & first times

We took little sweet pea to her second doctors appointment yesterday. She has grown an inch and gained a pound and 5 ounces since her last appointment! She's now 21 1/2 inches long and weighs 9lbs 4 oz.

My husbands family left yesterday after staying with us for a week. It was nice having so much help! While they were here we took Avery to the zoo and the beach for the first time.
