Raindrops

We were at my grandma's house for the garage sale Friday and decided to play in the rain for a bit. Avery LOVED it!

House hunting update

My realtor called me this morning and told me the seller came back with only a thousand dollars less than the listing price. The house isn't worth that much, so we are still looking for our new home.

Ten on Tuesday

-We made an offer on a house! It's actually the house that we ruled out before, but the seller dropped the price. We are meeting at the realtor's house later today to sign a contract. I'm not anticipating that they will take our initial offer, but I'm anxious to see what they come back at. I hope we hear from our realtor as soon as possible after the contract is signed!

-I went shopping yesterday with my cousin and hit up Target's clearance section. I got Avery two summer dresses and a sweater for 3.50 each, a shirt for 1.25 and a fall coat for 9.00. I'm pretty excited about it!

-I need to catch up on laundry sooo bad!!

-We are going to start ttc NEXT month! I can't believe that I could possibly be pregnant next month. Eek!

-Today is my husband & I's 3rd wedding anniversary. We are doing dinner and a movie tonight and then going away for an over nighter the first weekend of June to celebrate. It will be my first night away from Avery. I'll let you know if I survive :)

-Last night was night 3 of transitioning Avery to her crib in her room. The first night was a fail, the second night was a semi fail, and last night she did it! She is taking a nap in there as we speak and has woken up a few times already, but gone right back to sleep.

-No more formula! Avery is on all organic whole milk now. She still has it in a bottle, but we'll be working on eliminating that.

-My dad just called and the realtor told him that he is pretty positive that the sellers will not accept our offer. He is also convinced that they will be firm at the listing price. If that is the case, the search is still on. We will still officialy put the offer in today, but it will be what it will be. I trust God's plan for us.

-I'm starting to take daily walks with Avery. She loves being outside and this mama can sure use the exercise!

-We are having a garage sale this weekend and I'm hoping to get rid of a lot of our stuff we don't need. It's going to be at my grandma's house and she will be selling stuff too Hopefully a good amount of people show up.

On to the next

Well, It's not going to work out with that house. It needs a lot more work than we thought, and it is highly priced as it is. We have another appointment on Thursday afternoon to see another house. It's quite expensive, but we have heard that it may be move in ready with no work involved. We'll see if It's THE ONE!

On another note, I will have Avery's birthday party post up hopefully tomorrow. Just a warning: It's going to be very picture heavy!

House hunting

We are going to look at another house today. We've ruled out one of the two other ones that we looked at. I hope we like this one! It's in a good area of town and has a decent sized back yard for Avery to play in. I have seen a few pictures online of the inside and it looks like it needs some updating. We don't mind doing cosmetic work, just as long as the " bones" of the house are good. Hopefully it's something we can see as our future HOME!

Avery's First Birthday Party

We had so much fun at Avery's first birthday party! My father in law, mother in law, sister in law, brother in law, & two nephews came to stay with us for Avery's birthday. It was nice to see them, since the last time we saw them was for Thanksgiving. Here are some pictures from her actual birthday (May 5th) :

Love that toothy grin!

Here is my wonderful sister in law making the owl topper for the cake.

These are the pictures from her party (May 7th) :

Mmm, that's good! It was so good that she had to put it up her nose too, haha!

Avery & her grandma & papa (my parents)

We were so blessed to have such a great first birthday party for our sweet girl! It couldn't have gone any better.

ONE year old!

At one year old, Avery:

-wears size 6-12 & 12-18 month size clothing & size 3 shoes

-has taken about 6 steps on her own at once. She is fully capable of walking, but she's very cautious! A lot of the time she will be standing or taking steps on her own, and then notice what she is doing and sit down.

-is a picky eater! She doesn't care too much for her veggies & doesn't like textured food. I'm trying to switch her to all table food, but she gags anything up that is textured.

-still has her bottles of formula, but we're making the switch to whole milk now. I'm starting out with an ounce of whole milk mixed with her formula. I'll add another ounce of whole milk each day until the whole bottle is milk.

-has EIGHT teeth!

-is getting longer, wavy hair

-is understanding more of what we're saying. She knows what "no" means, but continues to do whatever she's doing that we don't want her to do (stinker!). She'll look at us and reach for a cord or something else we don't want her to have, and then smile at us knowing that she's not supposed to touch that.

-wants to climb everything

-loves to dance to music & clap

-can wave bye bye

-has full on separation anxiety. She's very shy around people she doesn't know.

-points at everything (so cute!)

-loves talking on the phone. Anytime she sees someone on the phone, she whines for it.

My BABY is ONE! Does that make her a toddler?! Insane.

1st Birthday Planning! *tear*

Well, here we are! I'm planning Avery's 1st birthday party! It's just insane to me. I have some crappy cell phone pictures of some of the projects I've done for her party.

These are the tissue paper centerpieces that will go on all six tables. The colors are bright orange, green, & pink. I still have to wrap the stems in green floral tape.

Here is a close up of what the vase looks like. There is shredded green grass in the vase.

This is an owl tree decoration I made. These are two branches that I found outside and spray painted white. The flower pot has a pink polka dot ribbon (same as the vases) around the top with white buttons on it. I still need to put a floral block in the pot to make the branches stand up and put shredded green grass in it.

Here's a close up of the owls & flowers. They're made out of felt with white button eyes.

These are the inviations I chose:

And the favor tags:

I'm going to ATTEMPT to make owl cake pops and attach the favor tags to them.

My sister in law is making a three tier round cake. We haven't quite decided exactly how we want it to look, so we'll probably just improvise. There will be an owl and a number one on the top though.

I can't believe that my baby's 1st birthday is in 4 days!!! We're having her party this Saturday :)
