Frustrated

Avery hasn't been good at eating solids AT ALL. She started to get a little better but the past couple days she just will NOT eat. She spits it all back out and I can't get any of it in her! It's getting really frustrating.

She only did good eating the peas about twice. Apples, bananas, and rice cereal aren't doing it for her either. I tried mixing apple with her cereal-nope. I tried mixing banana with her cereal-nope. I still haven't made the butternut squash or sweet potatoes yet, but I honestly just think she doesn't like eating off of a spoon. She just wants her bottle!

Does anyone have any advice? I feel like I'm just wasting food and time trying to force feed her all the time and she just spits it ALL out everytime.

Oh, and I wanted to say thank you to Summer at Tutus N' Trucks for making my header! I'm pretty clueless about that kind of stuff ;)

Mmmm!

I just got my Beaba Babycook that I ordered the other day and I love it! It makes making your own baby food so easy. It steams the veggies or fruit and then purees them. There is a steamer basket that you put the fruit or veggies in and then when they're done you just dump them in the processor and you puree them to the desired consistency. So far, I've only done apples & bananas in it. Tomorrow I'm going to try butternut squash & sweet potatoes.

Avery is starting to get better at eating. At first, she didn't want anything to do with it! She definitely didn't like peas and I found out that they have to be warm (and they get cold fast) for her to eat them. Apples seem to be o.k. but bananas seem to be her favorite so far. Rice cereal isn't doing it for her either. I might try mixing some apple or banana in with the cereal and see if she'll like it.

Also, she likes having a chunk of banana in the Munchkin Mesh Feeder. I'm going to try giving her a piece of apple in it tomorrow.

I love this sweet girl so much, even if she doesn't like her veggies! :p

Flashback Friday

Here is the picture of my positive pregnancy test! Of course, I uploaded it and inverted the colors to make sure I wasn't just seeing things haha. The line was so light!
(August 27, 2009)
And here is the regular pic...

It's so hard to believe that was over a year ago. It was definitely one of the happiest moments of my life (other than the birth of my daughter of course :p).

Six Months Old

Avery turned 6 months old on November 5th! That is half of a year!! Ahh she's growing so fast.

At 6 months old Avery:

-is wearing size 6-9 month clothing
-is wearing size 1 shoes
-is wearing size 2 diapers (but we're switching to size 3 as soon as we use up the rest of size 2)
-is eating 6 oz. every 3 hours
-eats rice cereal for breakfast & peas (first veggie!) for lunch & dinner
-sits up on her own, but still can get wobbly and plop over
-blows raspberries
-likes to splash in the tub
-is still sleeping in her travel pack n' play in our room. She is really growing out of it though, so we need to figure out heating her room to make the transition to her crib.
-loves to "talk" LOUD :)

Sweet girl

Trying peas for the first time. I don't think she liked them :p

Help please

I was wondering how to get a picture in my header?? I tried uploading one but it said it was too large. I sized it down but it cut it way off?? If anyone knows how to fix this, I'd appreciate the help :)

Day 19

Something you miss:

I miss all of our friends & family back in Massachusetts!

Day 18

Something you regret:

I'd have to say that I regret not watching my mom cook enough growing up. I'm a horrible cook now haha! I need some serious lessons!
And now a dose of cuteness:

Day 17

Something you're looking forward to:

I am definitely looking forward to spending Thanksgiving with my husband's family in Massachusetts! The last time that his parents, his sister & her husband & two kids saw Avery, she was four weeks old! So, we're very excited for them to see her! We're also celebrating Christmas with them at Thanksgiving too :)
