My husband and I went to one of his coworker's wedding today. They had it indoors at a club and boy was it hot! The man performing the ceremony had sweat dripping down his head (yuck). By the time we left, my hair and every other woman's hair, was pretty much shot! We managed to get one picture of us when we went outside to get some air...which was humid anyway.
On top of it being insanely hot at the wedding, we only knew a couple people and mostly sat and hung out by ourselves. That has been the story of our life for the past year and it's pretty lame!
We moved here in March of 2009 and I still don't even have one friend here. I lived in Pennsylvania from age 5 to 15 (in two different towns) and then moved to Massachusetts when my dad got a job there. I met my husband at a church youth group when we were 16 and decided to get married at age 20 when my parents announced they were moving back to Pennsylvania. My husband and I made the decision to move to Pennsylvania when we got offered a house from my grandfather and couldn't pass it up because we were over paying for our small apartment. I had gotten used to living in Massachusetts and wasn't too big of a fan of moving back to Pennsylvania, but who wouldn't want a free house?! I moved here expecting to be bored out of my mind, but didn't realize that I'd still be bored almost a year and a half later. We moved to a town that is basically dying. Alot of the businesses are closed down and the majority of people are struggling financially. The closest place to do anything (mall, movie theater, restaurants etc.) is 45 minutes away! I hadn't lived in this town since I was 12 so I didn't have friends to come back to either. The majority of my family live here but I only get together with a few of them due to alot of them being drama. I basically am at my parents house everyday with Avery hanging out with my mom (whoo! :/). My husband has made a couple guy friends through church and work though. I want to get out of this town (and state for that matter) but it will be so hard to take Avery away from my parents who absolutely adore her. I trust that God has a plan for my life, I'd just like something to happen to point us in the right direction.
Ok, I'm done whining now :)
I'll leave you with a picture of my sugar plum in a darling outfit my grandma had someone make her.
