Avery hasn't been good at eating solids AT ALL. She started to get a little better but the past couple days she just will NOT eat. She spits it all back out and I can't get any of it in her! It's getting really frustrating.
She only did good eating the peas about twice. Apples, bananas, and rice cereal aren't doing it for her either. I tried mixing apple with her cereal-nope. I tried mixing banana with her cereal-nope. I still haven't made the butternut squash or sweet potatoes yet, but I honestly just think she doesn't like eating off of a spoon. She just wants her bottle!
Does anyone have any advice? I feel like I'm just wasting food and time trying to force feed her all the time and she just spits it ALL out everytime.
Oh, and I wanted to say thank you to Summer at Tutus N' Trucks for making my header! I'm pretty clueless about that kind of stuff ;)

She could be teething or going through a growth spurt. My son goes through stages where he doesn't want table food, or won't drink a bottle. I would suggest to keep offering food to her, and she might catch on to it. Or you could always call her doc to ask for some advice. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteTry not to worry some babies just aren't ready for food at 6 months. My neighbours little girl didn't eat solids till 9 months. It's a developmental milestone so she may be telling you she's not ready. I did BLW and I loved it! I did a post about it a while ago. I really didn't like the whole puree thing and neither did Kaleb.
ReplyDeleteWhat I did was feed her with my finger and tried to be more entertaining about it. The finger feeding actually worked and after about a week she was more willing to let me try the spoon.
ReplyDeleteGood idea, I'll try the finger feeding. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteA. You're welcome! =) I think it looks great!!
ReplyDeleteB. Some kids arent ready for solids at this age. I would just try the finger feeding and if that doesnt work out, try spoon feeding once a week or so to see if she takes to it. Sometimes it takes them a little longer to like the texture of the food and such.
Good luck!!!
have you heard of baby-led weaning? you can wikipedia it. there is also a book called "Baby-led weaning." we do this with my daughter and she has nothing but positive eating experiences. she feeds herself and is in control of her needs. she is also gaining lots of fine motor skills.
ReplyDeleteHave things improved at all? I'm so sorry you're going through this - it does indeed sound frustrating:( We're about to start solids in a week or so...I may be visiting your blog for advice!
