30 Weeks & Big Changes Are Coming!

Belly Measurement: 39 3/4"

Weight: 138 lbs. (lost 2 lbs from last doc appt at 28 weeks. The flu will do that! So far I'm only up 5 lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight)

All was well at my doctor's appointment yesterday. I'm measuring right on track and baby's heartbeat sounds perfect. They said they're going to give me the Tdap vaccine at my next appointment. I'm not so sure about that. I'm feeling very conflicted about vaccinating myself while pregnant. I haven't had a vaccine since I was a child! What do you think? Does anyone have an opinion on this? The way the doctor said it, was like it wasn't even optional (which I know it's my choice). She just asked if I had the vaccine and when I said no, she said "ok, we'll give that to you next appointment". And that was the end of that discussion. Hmph. Is the whooping cough that much of a risk that I should inject myself while pregnant??? I'd really appreciate ANY input on the matter.

This past week my husband, Avery, & I were really sick! We're not sure if it was the flu or not, but Avery and I both had fevers up to 104! Not fun. I was very close to calling my OB, but thankfully I got my fever down with Tylenol. We're all feeling better now, but the cough and stuffy nose is hanging on for dear life.

In very exciting news, our offer got accepted on the house! We're just waiting for the woman that lives there to come back from vacation to sign the papers. I "think" she'll be back the 21st and then we can figure out exactly when we'll get the house. It should be about 30 days. It's a little crazy that we'll be moving and selling our house so close to Elise coming, but God's timing is always perfect!

  1. Totally support DTaP and Tdap...pregnant or not and for everyone in the family - I would even go as far as to say anyone that will contact with your baby should get it! Pertussis cases are the highest they've been in over 50 years....its said that it was caused by a lack of vaccinations. It's also fatal for infants.

  2. From a girl who wouldn't get a vaccine unless I felt it's a must, I'd get it. our children are mostly (youngest is completely) vaccine free, but even we got that to protect them against pertussis.

  3. I'm so sorry you had the flu, and with a fever too!:( That's awful. Glad you're better now..YAY on your house - CONGRATULATIONS!!! That is super exciting! I have a close friend who moved the week before she had her baby. She said it was crazy but doable - she just had her hubby do the heavy lifting and handle the stress! And she said help was definitely necessary. Good luck with everything! And with the vaccine I personally would probably get it, just to be on the safe side. But I know how challenging those types of decisions can be. Did you have your appointment?
